Thermal Oil Pressure – Head Converter

Convert gauge pressure to metres of thermal oil — and back — with density adjusted for oil type and temperature.

Conversion inputs

Density is linearly interpolated from the supplied property table.

Method

The converter uses the hydrostatic relationship between pressure difference and liquid-column height. Because both quantities represent a difference from the reference pressure, bar(g) is appropriate here.

H = P / (ρg)   •   P = ρgH   •   1 bar = 100,000 Pa

Engineering note: The result assumes a static, uniform-density column and standard gravity. It does not include friction loss, acceleration head or local elevation effects in a flowing system.
